ask any of my friends my favorite color and they will tell you...any hue of coral or peach! ga ga for this vera wang spring 2011 dress. check out junebug loves peach/coral weddings, yummy!

sunnies

sadly my sunglasses died a tragic death this weekend during the usa vs. ghana world cup match. luckily the few cold beers i enjoyed buffered the loss nicely, but here i am lost in a bright sunny world without them. during an online shopping search here is what caught my attention.

happy weekend!

happy weekend and congratulations to all celebrating weddings, engagements, birthdays, anniversaries and the like this weekend!
check out a pretty snippet of jen huang photography and our hair flowers on 100layercake today!

rooftop flowers

we often dream about the day we'll have gardens, backyards, front yards, and maybe just maybe even a porch. living in the city can get tough when you long for outdoor space because it can be hard to come by as many of you know. when i first came across these images at papertastebuds i was so envious. just half of one of these rooftop gardens could make me live in the city for life.

so it's official my (sierra) brother is engaged and i am beyond happy! although, i think juliet is equally as excited for them as i am because they are truly one of those couples that you know are perfect for each other. we wanted to share the sweetest ring he picked out to ask her with. they'll be finding the "real" ring together. too cute.

outside the flower box

we we're so honored when vane asked us to do a monthly contribution for her fantastic blog, brooklyn bride. we'll be thinking outside of the flower box each month to create tablescape inspirations for the modern bride. for our first project we teamed up with missy photography, ella cafe, and janelle sing to create a vibrant costa rican inspired tablescape.
we hope you'll check out the full post on brooklyn bride today to see more photos and hear about our inspiration for this shoot!

bouquets

this past weekend we had such a blast designing flowers for a few small weddings, an engagement party, and a birthday celebration in a gorgeous soho loft. this combination in events was especially fun because each design was so different.

i got to thinking about bridal bouquets, their design and what it said about each bride. designing a bridal bouquet is by far the best part about wedding flowers. we always try to make each bouquet unique in design and tailored to each bride's style. the type of bouquet a bride chooses says a lot about one's personality.
here are a few from this weekend...enjoy!

bespoke hats

lately we've been a bit obsessed with hair flowers, hats, and the like. zara carpenter's etsy shop sells some of the cutest bespoke hats i've seen thus far. each is utterly unique and inspired by found objects. it would be the perfect accessory for your wedding reception if you ask me!

pop-up shop

this past sunday we hopped in a van filled with yummy smelling lavender and headed to the forest hills arts & music festival. we we're lucky enough to be asked to design petite-fete's pop-up shop at the festival. the shop design was inspired by the french provencal aesthetic with vintage elements and the goal was to create a subtle but pretty backdrop to display petite-fete's gorgeous stationary and yummy taffy treats. working with claude, the owner and creative behind the stationary, was a such a blast!

sunday supper love

make sure to check out sunday supper's new website and logo design. it makes me giddy it's so pretty. also, don't forget to see all of the cool classes they have coming up.

bridal bod

this past sunday we were thrilled to support a good friend, jasmine johnson, in her new endeavor (bridalbod). jasmine has been a trainer in nyc for years and is always thinking of creative and fun ways to get her clients in shape. on saturday mornings in the summer she puts on a bootcamp in central park that is fun and challenging!
she recently teamed up with a fantastic nutritionist, jennifer pelaez, to offer complete fitness packages to get in shape for your wedding! genius!
at the launch event on sunday we tasted super foods such as goji berries and hemp seeds. i think the unsung hero was the aloe. surprisingly yummy!
jennifer passed on some helpful info about each super food and answered our many questions about eating healthy.
jasmine gave a quick and easy ab demonstration that you can do every morning before work. if you're a bride to be or just looking to get/stay in shape i highly recommend reaching out to jasmine and jennifer!
